FLINTA* RAGE – Queer op de Kunstnacht. Want wij gaan niet stilletjes afwachten tot het weer de goede kant op gaat. FLINTA* mensen laten zich zien en horen in een rauw programma vol verassingen, kunst en vurig activisme.

FLINTA* RAGE performance
Rauwe klanken in dit muziekstuk transformeren woede en onmacht. FLINTA* RAGE laat je voelen wat de kracht is van stemmen in creativiteit en verbinding. Gebaseerd op een stuk van Canadeese Dirigent Katarina Gimon, met nonsensical syllables, en in Nijmegen een initiatief van Vrouwenscholers José Renkens en Tanja van Ommen. Onder leiding van onze dirigent Inge Stok.
Isis Germano – Spoken word
De FLINTA* RAGE performance wordt ingeleid met een spoken word van Isis Germano (zij/die). Dit spoken word is een gedicht, een gefragmenteerde analyse van wat we als FLINTA*s meemaken, en een ode aan woede als een kracht van toewijding, van onderscheidingsvermogen, van liefde en van zorgzaamheid.
Isis Germano is dramaturg, schrijver en onderzoeker. Als onderzoeker werkt ze met performance research, feministische perspectieven en queer theory. Als educator probeert ze zoveel mogelijk ruimte, inzicht en liefde te creëren voor queer feminist joy en voor de niet-witte ervaring in Nederland, en zoveel mogelijk terrein te winnen op culturen van minachting, geweld en exploitatie.
FACES of FLINTA* RAGE
Deze kunstinstallatie geeft FLINTA* woede en onmacht een gezicht. Louise Verbree van Seesaw Producties fotografeerde en verfilmde gezichten van Nijmeegse queers en FLINTA*s. Daarmee brengt zij onze woede en onmacht in beeld, maar ook de veelzijdigheid en kracht van deze vaak onderbelichte groep mensen.
Louise Verbree, is actief in de (Nijmeegse) kunst- en cultuurwereld en zet zich in voor de queer gemeenschap dmv videoclips en kunstprojecten. Het wonen en werken op bijzondere plekken in Nijmegen zoals Villa Lila en De Vrouwenschool hebben haar sterk gevormd in haar denken over samenleven, creativiteit en sociale verbinding.
FLINTA* 101 : what you get, is what you see
Wat je altijd wilde weten over FLINTA* maar niet durfde te vragen.
Waar staat FLINTA* voor? Wie zijn die mensen wiens levens schuilgaan achter een letter? Hoe worstelen zij met een systeem, een heteronormatief, patriarchaal paradigma waarin we allemaal leven? Waar lopen zij tegenaan als mens die anders is maar ook precies hetzelfde, als ouder, geliefde, buur, collega, stadgenoot?
En hoe kun jij een * ally zijn? FLINTA* 101 neemt jou bij de hand. Informeer je. Spreek je uit. *Ally or *sshole… it’s up to you 😉
KUTZOOI zeefdruk
Een gezellige punani op je eigen katoenen shirt, jack, of tas. Want er is behoorlijk wat KUT zooi in de wereld en daar willen we het wel even over hebben.
WIJ schamen ons bijvoorbeeld niet voor onze prachtige vulva’s, maar waarom hebben we het dan nog altijd over schaamlippen? Zeg ons na: V U L V A L I P P E N. De binnenste en de buitenste allemaal even mooi en prachtig. Net als de clitoris, waarvan zo veel mensen niet weten hoe die er eigenlijk uitziet en werkt. Kliteratuur en andere KUTzaken, daar spreken we jou graag over, terwijl we je outfit een makeover geven, onder één van onze zeven!

FLINTA* RAGE – Queer at the Kunstnacht. Because we’re not just going to sit back and wait quietly for things to get better again. FLINTA* people are making themselves seen and heard in a raw programme full of surprises, art and passionate activism.

The raw sounds in this piece of music transform anger and powerlessness. FLINTA* RAGE lets you feel the power of voices in creativity and connection. Based on a piece by Canadian conductor Katarina Gimon, featuring nonsensical syllables, and an initiative in Nijmegen of Vrouwenscholers José Renkens en Tanja van Ommen. Conducted by our conductor Inge Stok.
Isis Germano – Spoken word
The FLINTA*RAGE performance is kicked-off with a spoken word by Isis Germano (she/they). This spoken word is a poem, a fragmented analysis of what we are facing as FLINTA*s, and a celebration of anger as a force of commitment, of discernment, of love, and of care.
Isis Germano is a dramaturg, writer and researcher. As a researcher she works with performance research, feminist perspectives and queer theory. As an educator they work to create space, insight and love for queer and feminist joy and for the other-than-white experience in the Netherlands, and to make as much headway as we can on cultures of contempt, violence and exploitation.
FACES of FLINTA* RAGE
This art installation gives a face to FLINTA* anger and powerlessness. Louise Verbree of Seesaw Producties photographed and filmed the faces of queer and FLINTA*s in Nijmegen. In doing so, she captures our anger and powerlessness, but also the diversity and strength of this often underrepresented group of people.
Louise Verbree is active in the (Nijmegen) art and culture scene and champions the queer community through music videos and art projects. Living and working in unique venues in Nijmegen, such as Villa Lila and De Vrouwenschool, have had a profound influence on her thinking about community life, creativity and social connection.

What does FLINTA* stand for? Who are the people whose lives lie behind a letter? How do they grapple with a system – a heteronormative, patriarchal paradigm – in which we all live? What challenges do they face as people who are different yet also exactly the same – as parents, partners, neighbours, colleagues and fellow citizens?
And how can you be a * ally? FLINTA* 101 takes you by the hand. Get informed. Speak out. *Ally or *sshole… it’s up to you 😉

We, for example, aren’t ashamed of our beautiful vulvas, so why do we still talk about schaamlippen? Say it with us: V U L V A L I P S. The inner and outer ones and all equally beautiful and stunning. Just like the clitoris – so many people don’t actually know what it looks like or how it works. Clitoriture and other PUSSY matters – we’d love to chat to you about these whilst we give your outfit a makeover, under one of our screen prints!
